1. Overview
Spicy Sort ("Spicy Sort," "the App," "we," "us") is a color-sorting
puzzle game published by Alpha Omega ("we," "the Developer"). This Privacy Policy
explains what information the App collects, how it is used, which third-party services it relies on
(Google AdMob, Google Ad Manager, and Google Firebase), and the choices available to you. It applies to
the Android app distributed under package ID com.app.alpha.omega.spicy.sort.game.
Spicy Sort does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information in order to play.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
We do not collect any personal information that you type into the App, because the App has no sign-up, login, profile, chat, or user-generated content feature.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Like most apps that use advertising and analytics services, Spicy Sort automatically shares certain technical information with the third-party providers described in this policy when the App is used in a released (non-development) build:
- Device & app information — device model, operating system version, language and country settings, app version, and general performance data (e.g. crashes, ANRs).
- Advertising identifier (AD_ID) — a resettable, non-permanent identifier assigned by Google Play services, used by Google AdMob / Google Ad Manager to serve and measure ads.
- Gameplay & interaction events — for example, which level you started or completed, how many stars you earned, which achievements you unlocked, and which ad formats were shown or clicked. These events are tied to an anonymous installation/analytics identifier, not to your name or contact details.
- Approximate location — Google's advertising and analytics SDKs may derive a coarse, city/region-level location from your IP address for ad relevance and fraud prevention. The App does not request GPS/precise location permission and does not access your device's location services.
2.3 Information stored only on your device
Your gameplay progress — unlocked levels, star ratings, achievement progress, selected background and tube themes, and app settings (such as sound and notification preferences) — is stored locally on your device using standard Android app storage. This data is never uploaded to us, and is permanently removed when you use the in-app "Reset Progress" option or uninstall the App.
3. App Permissions
Spicy Sort requests the following Android permissions. We do not request access to your contacts, photos/files, camera, microphone, precise location, SMS, or call history.
| Permission | Why the App uses it |
|---|---|
INTERNET |
Required to load ads, send anonymous analytics/crash data, and communicate with Firebase and Google's ad services. |
AD_ID (Google advertising ID) |
Lets Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager serve and measure ads, and lets you control ad personalization through your device's Ads settings. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Shows an optional local reminder about the Daily Challenge. You are asked to allow this the first time it applies, and can decline or revoke it at any time in your device settings. |
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM |
Lets the App deliver the optional daily reminder notification at the specific local time you'd expect it, rather than at an imprecise time chosen by the system. |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED |
Lets the App reschedule your optional daily reminder after you restart your device, so it keeps firing at the expected time. |
VIBRATE |
Provides haptic feedback for in-game actions such as pouring, invalid moves, and unlocking achievements. |
4. How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App's puzzles, difficulty balance, and features.
- To diagnose crashes and bugs (via Firebase Crashlytics) so we can fix them.
- To understand, in aggregate, how players engage with levels, achievements, and the Daily Challenge (via Firebase Analytics), so we can improve the game.
- To display and measure the performance of ads (via Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager), and to grant in-game rewards (extra hints, undos, tubes) when you choose to watch a rewarded ad.
- To deliver the optional Daily Challenge reminder notification you've allowed.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use any information collected by the App to build a profile of you outside of the App.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob & Google Ad Manager)
Spicy Sort is supported by ads served through Google AdMob and, where enabled, Google Ad Manager. The App shows app-open, interstitial, rewarded, and native ad formats at natural break points (for example, between levels, or when you choose to watch a rewarded ad for an extra hint, undo, or tube).
Google and its advertising partners may use your advertising ID and other device signals described in Section 2 to select, deliver, personalize, measure, and prevent fraud on ads shown in the App, subject to the ad settings and consent choices in effect for your country. You can:
- Review or reset your advertising ID, and opt out of personalized advertising, from your device's Settings → Google → Ads (or the equivalent "Ads Settings" screen on your device).
- Learn more about how Google uses information from its partners' apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Review Google's own Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Analytics & Crash Reporting
The App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google, to understand gameplay trends in aggregate and to catch and fix crashes. These tools may collect device information, app usage events, and diagnostic/crash logs as described in Section 2. This collection is disabled in development builds and only active in the released version of the App. Firebase's data handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Firebase's own terms.
7. Data Storage & Retention
Local gameplay data (progress, settings, unlocks) lives only on your device for as long as the App is installed, or until you reset it from Settings. Analytics, crash, and advertising data collected by Google's SDKs is retained according to Google's own retention schedules for Firebase and AdMob/Ad Manager, which you can review in the Google policies linked throughout this page.
8. Third-Party Service Providers
We share the automatically-collected information described above with the following service providers, each acting under their own privacy policy:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) | Gameplay analytics and crash/error reporting | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Ad serving and measurement | support.google.com/admob |
| Google Ad Manager | Ad serving and measurement (secondary ad network) | policies.google.com/privacy |
We do not otherwise sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties.
9. Children's Privacy
Spicy Sort is designed for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 14 and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
10. Your Choices & Rights
- Reset your progress at any time from Settings → Reset Progress.
- Opt out of personalized ads or reset your advertising ID from your device's Ads settings.
- Disable notifications at any time from your device's App notification settings.
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored gameplay data from your device.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EEA/UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have additional rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data associated with you, or to object to certain processing. Because the App does not maintain user accounts, most requests can only be actioned for data tied to identifiers on your own device (see the options above) or by contacting Google directly for data processed by their SDKs. You can also reach us using the contact details in Section 14 with any request or question.
11. International Users
The App and the third-party services it relies on (Google Firebase, AdMob, and Ad Manager) may process information on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own.
12. Security
We rely on the security practices of Google Play, Firebase, and Google's advertising platforms to protect the information described in this policy. While no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, we and our providers take reasonable measures to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect a new feature or a change in the third-party services we use. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the App after a change becomes effective means you accept the revised policy.
